"I was referred to Anthony HVAC by some friends a few years ago, when my AC stopped blowing cold air. They were out there the next day to do a pressure-check and refill the freon. Good as new, for an unbelievably reasonable price, and I continued to use them for yearly maint. and trouble-shooting going forward. Fast-forward to my latest issue, where the compressor itself has now given up the ghost (it's 15 yrs old and is a heat-pump, so it's basically been in service through 30 years worth of use): there is no doubt in my mind as to who I will be using to do the replacement of the compressor. Once you find a good, honest contractor in DC for things you're going to need again and again (HVAC, plumbers, electricians, general handypersons), they are people I will refer to anyone and everyone who asks. Because this kind of an honest, considerate-of-my-time, reasonably-priced professional resource in a city as busy-busy/rush-rush as DC? Is like hitting the lottery....."
